Application User Types & Roles

The application has 2 levels of User Roles

Application Level User Roles

There are 2 types of Application Level User Roles, which are:

  1. Super Admin - Super Admin has access to view & create a workspace and has access to all the functionality that could be performed within the workspace. Additionally, the super admin has access to manage all the workspaces, users, and queries within the application.
  2. User - User has the access to view their workspace, and create new ones.

The table depicted below shows the permissions for the application-level user roles. It is to be noted that these indicate the accessibility of features in the application as a whole and not within a workspace.

Workspace Level User Roles

There are 3 types of Workspace Level User Roles:

  1. Workspace Admin - When a user creates a workspace, they are automatically assigned as a workspace admin. This user role gives them full access/administrative rights within that workspace i.e. they are allowed to create data sources, aliases & queries. They are also capable of adding existing users to the application or inviting new users to the workspace.
  2. Datasource Admin - The data source admins have access to manage data sources and aliases and have the capability to view the users. They do not have access to run or save queries.
  3. Analyst - The analysts are capable of running and saving queries. They can also view data sources, their items & fields, and aliases, which could be used to build queries.

The detailed permissions for each workspace-level user role are shown below. These permissions are defined for workspaces, i.e. they are options that are available within a workspace and not on an application/global level.
